The
Composer's Room is distinguished by the presence of a Erard piano,
Beethoven's favourite brand. This is a particularly interesting instrument,
having a sound box
shaped as a lute. Even though it dated back to the middle
nineteenth-century, this instrument has already an exposed mechanics, of
fort? type, anticipating the modern model with spring lowering.
Above the piano, the print made by Lionello Balestrieri and representing
Beethoven in the act of playing together with the violinist Kreutzer for
Vienna's poor.
In the same room there is a copy of sixteenth-century lute and a Geiepel
violin of great value.
